Ora
Ring road
(p.f. 1287, C.C. Ora)
A multiple inhumation was discovered in 2007 at Ora/Auer, South Tyrol, north-eastern Italy. A natural rock niche at the foot of a high cliff face contained two well-preserved adult male individuals and one immature individual. The burial has been AMS 14C dated to the Copper Age. The anthropological analysis has identified a number of osteological characteristics that emphasize the antiquity of the material, which is comparable to that from other North Italian burial contexts dating to the Neolithic and Early Metal Ages. The most significant features in the two adults are dolicocephaly, similar skull morphology and stature around 165/170 cm. Provincia Autonoma di Bolzano-Alto Adige Tutela dei Beni Culturali 2008.
